Broken parts January 16, 2024 Reviewer: Joseph Glunz from McGregor, MN United States   The bottom end of the motor had a bad defect to where I couldn't use it. it is made out of cast and from the looks was a bad cast where the crank bearing and seal sit making it unusable. Engine Failure March 14, 2023 Reviewer: Justin Garber from Eaton, OH United States   Upon first inspection everything looked great, shipped fast, nice overhaul kit.  After about .5 hours of the saw running the piston cracked right where the top ring alignment pin comes mounted.  Could be from manufacture flaw.  Didn't notice any other issues than that. Stihl 039 Rebuild March 14, 2022 Reviewer: Paul Coenen from Richland Center, WI United States   I really enjoyed my Stihl 039 build with products from HL Supply.  Especially after my local repair shop told me it was junk and to buy a new one.  I saved well over $550 by rebuilding my 039.  The only suggestion would be to include some basic instructions in the rebuild kit for help with us newbies.  An example would be which way the arrow on the new piston should face  (intake) and which direction the groves in the rings should face.  Easily answered via Youtube and a quick call to one of your  people but a quick set of directions and engine break-in procedures included would be great.  The first time I started it I felt a great sense of satisfaction.  Thanks! Nice engine. May 28, 2021 Reviewer: David J. from Beaumont, TX United States   After installing a piston and rings set, within a few days it lost compression So I got a fresh, complete engine . Very well made, started first pull with choke. Break in showed me all I needed to know. This rebuid kit, just like the 391 I installed "Hyway"  cylinder-piston kit, Won't ever be back for warranty!  Sure you can get cheaper, then credit it back to customers plus labor...
