Check your throttle wire before starting your saw! January 31, 2022 Reviewer: Gary Ouimet from Elgin, QC Canada   I replaced the carb on my MS 170 with the Non-Genuine Carburetor (Zama Type). Everything looked fine. Saw fired right up after few pulls, at FULL THROTTLE! Luckily I was able to shut it down before it exploded in my hands. Come to find out that the throttle wire linkage was jamming between the carb body and butterfly link and not allowing butterfly to completely close! After modifying carb body with a Dremel Tool, the butterfly now closes and my saw is now running! Not impressed with this carb! Was this review helpful to you?

Stihl MS170 after market carb September 28, 2019 Reviewer: Mike Picard from Fort Nelson, BC Canada   I received it on Sept 27 and installed it  on Sept 28.  Watched a youtube video.  Started and balked a few times going from idle to full power.  After 10 seconds at full power went to idle and back to full power smoothly.
